Bauchi NYSC Relocates Orientation Camp Due to Renovations

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi State has announced a change of venue for the upcoming 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course. The orientation will now be held at Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, rather than the usual Wailo NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, which is currently under renovation.

According to a press statement from Bauchi State NYSC Coordinator, Rifkatu Yakubu, this change is necessary to allow for a comprehensive renovation of the permanent orientation camp.

The statement read, “The general public is hereby informed that the forthcoming 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation exercise for corps members posted to Bauchi State will be held at Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education Kangere along Gombe Road, Bauchi LGA, Bauchi State. This decision follows the recent visit of the executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Mohammed, to the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Wailo, where he instructed the state Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Committee to commence a total renovation of the existing camp structures and possibly build additional facilities.”

Yakubu further explained that the temporary relocation to Kangere College aims to ensure a smooth and successful orientation exercise for all prospective corps members.

She also advised incoming corps members to avoid traveling at night by planning their journey to allow for an overnight rest before continuing the next day.

Our correspondent has learned that approximately 1,900 prospective corps members have been deployed to Bauchi State for the orientation exercise, which is scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 17, 2024.
