Bayelsa: Police nab suspected armed robber with pistol, bullet proof vest

Operatives of Operation Puff Adder 11, Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old suspected armed robber, Teke Kolokol ‘m’ 37 years old in  possession of a  locally made pistols and Catridges along Ayama road ,Famgbe in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat  disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to DayBreak Newspaper in Yenagoa.

SP Butswat said the suspect was arrested by Operatives from  operation puff Adder 11,who were acting on credible information on July 6, 2021.

According to SP Butswat, “ While acting on a tip off, the  operatives arrested the suspect one Teke Kolokol ‘m’ 37 years, in  possession of a locally made pistol, Catridges and illicit drugs, at off-Ayama Road, Famgbe, Yenagoa. A search was conducted in his house where an Army camouflage bullet proof vest was also recovered. 

The suspect is cooperating with the Police and he will soon appear in Court at the conclusion of the investigation.”

SP  Butswat stated that, immediate search was  conducted in the suspect’s house and Army camouflage bullet proof vest was also recovered, noting that a discreet investigation has commenced.

SP Butswat said the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

The Commissioner of Police,  Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli fsi, advised residents to always volunteer useful information that will assist the Police in fishing out criminals in the State.
