Bayelsa : Tarabina commends contractors for quality, pace of work

The Bayelsa state chairman of the Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Ebiye Tarabina has commended the contractors handling government projects for the level of work done.

Tarabina, who is a former lawmaker representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 11 in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, made the commendation when he embarked on an inspection tour of project sites in the State on Friday, 31st March, 2023.

Projects inspected includes the ongoing Oporoma bridge, the Imiringi/ Okaki road phase 2 and 3, the Onuebem/ Otueke road, culvet projects at Elebele, Imiringi and Amassoama road, and Igbedi road extension project.

The project monitoring boss noted that the present administration has demonstrated commitment to the infrastructural development of the state which is evidence to all.

The chairman maintain that the directorate will continue to insist on standards and quality, stressing that the projects are significant for the present and future development of the state.

He called on Bayelsans to always give their unalloyed support and cooperation to the prosperity administration for the rapid transformation and development of the state.

Speaking at the Onuebem/Otueke road and Igbedi road extension project, the chairman lauded PAACIE construction company who is handling the projects for the milestones recorded, however, urged the contractor to expedite action for the timely completion of the projects.

At the site of the Oporoma bridge project, the Chairman lauded China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) for the pace and quality of work achieved, however, charged the company to intensify efforts to complete the project on schedule.

In their separate responses, the site Engr. of Igbedi road extension project, Engr. Kareem Abdul and Onuebem Otueke/ road project, Engr. Abiphrem Joseph Abraham, both of PACCIE construction company, lauded the present administration for the award of the contract aimed at opening the frontiers of development of the state as well as improving the quality and standard of living of the people.

The duo said with the determination of the prosperity administration on infrastructural development, the projects will be completed on schedule.

In an interview with a resident in Onuebem Community, Mr. Saviour Okaniba on the expected benefits of the Onuebem/Otueke road project, Mr. Okaniba commended the prosperity administration for the infrastructural development of the state, adding that Onuebem/ Otueke road when completed will boost the economic activities of the people.

He also appreciated the chairman of the directorate for project monitoring and evaluation Engr. Ebiye Tarabina and members of the team for the inspection tour, stressing that this will ensure that contractors will execute their jobs to the best of standards.

The chairman was accompanied by the Secretary of the board, Engr, Sampson Igodo members of the board, heads of departments, engineers and among others
