The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has invoked prayers for the healing of Nigeria as the country marks the Easter celebrations.
In a felicitation message signed by Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Chief Press Secretary to the Oba, on Friday, the monarch beseeched God and the ancestors to bring healing to Nigeria during this Easter period.
The statement emphasized, “The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has urged Christian faithful to embody the spirit of Christ and fervently pray to God for forgiveness of sins and for national healing.”
Furthermore, the royal father encouraged Christians to exemplify the virtues of Christ in their daily lives and to draw strength from the message of hope conveyed through Jesus’ sacrifice. He urged them to foster love and unity amidst challenges.
The Federal Government had earlier declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, as public holidays for Christians to observe Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
