BENSACA Pledges to Meet WHO’s target of Eradicating HIV, AIDS by 2030

The Executive Secretary, Benue State AIDS Control Agency, BENSACA, Dr Ephraim Tyo has disclosed that efforts are being stepped up to sustain collaborations with the implementing partners and other stakeholders in the fight against the deadly HIV, AIDS pandemic.

The Helmsman of the agency who made this disclosure in an interview with Day Break in Makurdi at the weekend explained that the aim primarily is to meet the World Health Organization, WHO’s target of eradicating the scourge by the year, 2030.

Dr Tyo verbatim: ” The aim is to sustain and stregnthen collaborations with other implementing partners and stakeholders in the fight against HIV in order to meet the WHO’s target of bringing an end to HIV by the year, 2030.”

The Executive Secretary who is the current Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Federal Medical Center, Makurdi and Vice Chairman, Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, FMC, Makurdi hinted that he would bring his vast experience in the medical profession to bear on his present assignment for optimal performance. 

Dr Tyo who assumed duty in December, 2021 promised to repositioned the agency for enhanced productivity and at best to serve the health needs of the Benue citizens.

He contended that the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom is working tirelessly to uplift BENSACA to be alive to its responsibility of ameliorating the health challenge of the people of the state, reiterating that Governor Ortom pledged to give necessary support to the agency for more effective service delivery. Ends
