Benue CAN Admonishes Christians to Emulate Jesus

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Benue State chapter, Rev Akpen Leva has admonished Christians to emulate Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life to safe mankind from sin.

The Clergy spoke in an interview with Day Break in Makurdi as the church commemorates Good Friday which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

” Good Friday is a very important day in Christiandom, it is a day that Jesus Christ was crucified on the carvery. A day that Jesus Christ demonstrated his love for humanity by sacrificing his life for the good of mankind.

According to the Chairman the day is significant because people have gotten light from Jesus’s style of leadership and life. It is very important for us as a people and church to translate that into our relationship with one another.”

Continuing, he counseled Christians to celebrate the day in a more spiritual manner and not indulging in drinking and being intuxicated but by extending this love to one another.

His words: ” There are some that are suffering in the IDPs, there are some that don’t even have a plate of rice to eat, we can demonstrate our love by donating to them.

The Chairman called on leaders to lead by example by sacrificing for the good of another person, adding that if we live a life of sacrifice, the impact of good leadership will be felt and there will be peace in the state and nation. Ends
