Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has officially sworn in the 23 newly elected Local Government Chairmen. This follows closely after Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara did the same. During the ceremony, Governor Alia stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in governance.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured all 23 chairmanship positions and 276 councillorship seats in the recent election. Alia called on the new chairmen to serve the people with dedication and to collaborate with state and federal governments for effective governance.
“This event marks a significant moment for local governance in Benue, especially for the grassroots communities,” Alia said. He reminded the chairmen that leadership is about service and not personal gain.
Dennis Guda, who represented the new chairmen, pledged to provide quality governance while remaining loyal to the APC and supporting the state government’s efforts.
