Benue Receives 40,000 Doses of Oral Cholera Vaccine

Benue State Government has taken delivery of 40000 doses of oral Cholera Vaccine for four local governments to curb the spread of the disease.

Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Ngbea who made this disclosure while interacting with the team from the World Health Organization, WHO, named the local governments as, Makurdi, Guma Gwer-west and Agatu respectively.

Hee said the Vaccine were from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, stating that government is working with partners to tackle outbreak of diseases.

Ngbea further stressed that WHO in collaboration with the National Center for Disease Control NCDC, would support the vaccination and that there was rapid response due to renewed outbreak of Cholera in recent times.
