Benue State 2021 Supplementary Budget of N21.7 billion Passes Second Reading

The Benue State 2021 supplementary budget of N21.7 billion has passed through second reading on the floor of the Benue State House of Assembly.

In the lead debate, Majority Leader, Mr Damian Cheme noted that adjustments were made to avoid budgetary over spending of high spending Public sectors entity among others.

Cheme further noted that the proposed adjustment do not add any figure to the budget and moved a motion that the supplementary Bill be read for a second time.

The motion was seconded by the Minority Leader, Mr Bem Mngutyo who supported the Bill, contending that supplementary budget is constitutional.

After reading the Bill for the second time by the Clerk of the house, Dr Terese Agena, the Speaker, Mr Titus Uba referred the bill to the house standing committee on appropriation to speedily process it and brought back to the house for consideration.
