Dr. Jimmy Ajim, the Director General Plenipotentiary and Liaison Affairs, Abuja, assumed full duties at the Benue state Liaison Office in Asokoro On Monday, 28th October, 2024.
As the Director General, Dr. Ajim brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role, having dedicated his career to diplomatic and liaison affairs. His appointment to the Benue state Liaison Office is a testament to his commitment to fostering strong relationships and facilitating effective communication between the state and various stakeholders as he did when he was appointed the NNPC Liaison Officer to the National Assembly between 2007 – 2013, where he travelled extensively with legislative Committees on Oil and Gas, both in the Senate and House of Representatives on oversight assignments to NNPC facilities.
Dr. Ajim was received by the Acting Director of the Liaison Office, Mr. Vershima Anshingu, who officially introduced and presented the new DG to the management and staff of the Liaison Office. In his welcome address, Mr. Anshingu applauded the Governor for appointing such an accomplished personality with impeccable credentials. He later introduced the staff to Dr. Ajim and charged them to prioritize their schedules in line with the vision and mission of the Fr. Alia Administration.
In response, Dr. Ajim expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and implored the staff to work as a team to deliver on the mandate expected of them. He reiterated that the Alia administration is result-oriented and a performance management system would be strictly applied.
Dr. Ajim was then conducted round the complex for a needs assessment, and to identify possible areas of intervention, especially the infrastructural transformation of the working environment.
“A new narrative is underway,” said Dr. Ajim, as he embarks on his new role at the Benue State Liaison Office.
Dr. Jimmy Ajim is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of excellence in public service. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role as the Director General of Plenipotentiary and Liaison Affairs at the Benue State Liaison Office.
A graduate of Kingston University, London and Zug University, Switzerland, Dr. Ajim has a strong Academic and Industrial Training background in Leadership & Management, Public Relations, Protocol, Diplomacy and Logistics.
In the course of his career, Dr Ajim had worked with 5 Ministers of Petroleum Resources as NNPC Chief and Senior Manager, Protocol and International Liaison, thus:
Late Dr Rilwanu Lukman, Dr Edmund Daukoru, Dr Emmanuel Kachikwu, Chief Timipre Sylva, and Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.
Dr Ajim has alsi visited more than 23 countries across the globe, notably, UK, USA, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan, China, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.
The assumption of full duties by Dr. Ajim at the Benue state Liaison Office in Asokoro marks a significant milestone, as the State looks to strengthen its position and amplify its voice on the national and global stage. With his proven track record and unwavering commitment to public service, Dr. Ajim is poised to represent Benue State’s interest and make a meaningful impact in this role, further solidifying the state’s position as a key player in the nation’s affairs.
Dr Ajim also plans to undertake a tour of the Benue State Liaison Offices in Lagos and Kaduna for on the spot assessment as he did in Abuja, soon.
