“Biodun Stephen’s ‘Small Talk’ Earns ₦8.6 Million at Nigerian Box Office”

Biodun Stephen’s comedy-drama ‘Small Talk’ has made an impressive debut at the Nigerian box office, ranking third on the charts, as reported by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN). The film, released on October 27, 2023, managed to gross a total of ₦8.6 million between October 27, 2023, and November 2, 2023.

‘Small Talk’ takes the audience on a delightful journey into the investigation of a home robbery, featuring the talkative gateman portrayed by Mr. Marcaoni and the highly comical detective played by Lasisi Elenu. The movie boasts a talented cast, including Taye Arimoro, Moet Abebe, Blessing Nze, Greg Ojefua, Isabae U, Ajayi Korexx, Lizzy Jay, Timilehin Ojeola, Mofe Okorodudu, Bouche Oluwatosin, and Michael John.

Topping the box office charts is ‘Merry Men,’ maintaining its first position by grossing ₦21.1 million from October 27, 2023, to November 2, 2023, with a total gross of ₦84.1 million since its debut. The crime thriller has impressively held the top spot for three consecutive weeks.

In the second position is ‘Freelance,’ an American action film written by Jacob Lentz. The movie narrates the story of a former special forces operator, Mason Pettits, portrayed by John Cena, as he takes on a new security job. ‘Freelance’ closed its seven-day total gross with ₦20.1 million.

Making its cinema debut on October 27, 2023, is ‘Rapacity,’ a Nigerian feature that delves into the story of two brothers with contrasting temperaments engaged in a fierce conflict. The movie garnered a total of ₦1.8 million and features notable actors such as Akin Lewis, Boma Akpore, Lanre Afod, Liquorose, Sandra Okunzuwa, Shatta Bundle, and Tina Mba.
