BIRS Commences Training, Retraining of Staff For Effective Service Delivery

Determined to improve the revenue profile of the state, the Acting Executive Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Mr Emmanuel Agema, has sent 22 staff for a 3-day workshop North Central Regional training for tax investigation, audit, compliance and enforcement, organised by Nasarawa Government in collaboration with Joint Tax Board, JTB.

A statement by the Media Assistant to the Chairman, Jacinta Bernard, recalled that the service under Mr Agema, organized first annual staff retreat in the Makurdi, the Benue State capital to improve the knowledge and skills of the staff.

According to the statement, the Tax Boss is maximizing revenue generation through the utilization of skilled and professional staff via training and retraining of personnel towards effective service delivery. “It is important to note that, there have been periodic in-house training at the tax house” to enable them acquire skills to ensure maximum results.

“The Chairman’s commitment to training his staff stems from his astute leadership style, flare for professionalism”, stressing that this has positively yielded positive results since assumption of office.
