By   Milcah   Tanimu

Boko Haram terrorists attacked a military base in Borno State, resulting in the death of a soldier and his civilian girlfriend. The incident occurred on Monday at the Tango 19 military base, located in the Mafa Local Government Area.

Security sources revealed that the terrorists targeted the 112 battalion. A soldier lost his life during the assault. The gunmen also killed a woman identified as the soldier’s girlfriend, who reportedly entered the camp the previous night.

“An incident happened early this morning involving our troops at the 112 battalion in Mafa LGA, Borno State. Boko Haram attacked Tango 19 and killed one soldier,” one source informed SaharaReporters. “They also killed one girl the soldier secretly brought to the camp last night.”

Nigeria has faced insurgency challenges in the North-East for nearly two decades. Efforts to contact army spokesperson Major General Onyema Nwachukwu for comments were unsuccessful.
