Boko Haram Kills 27 Fishermen In Cameroon

At least 27 fishermen have been killed, and four others abducted, by the Boko Haram terrorist group in the fringes of Lake Chad, along the border between Cameroon and Nigeria.

The attackers, suspected to belong to the Buduma faction of Abou Ummaymah, targeted a local fishing community harboring many fishermen from Nigeria on Kofiya Island near Darak, Cameroon.

According to counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama, the terrorists ordered the victims to lie down and tied their hands behind their backs before executing them.

The terrorists also abducted four other fishermen, accusing them of spying for the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) faction.

Troops and other fishermen who received news from those who escaped the attack later recovered the bodies of the deceased during a search and rescue operation.
