Borno State University Gets New Governing Council

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of BORNO state, has appointed Dr Mohammed Indimi, as chairman  Governing Council of Borno State University (BOSU) in MAIDUGURI.

Presiding over the  inauguration ceremony, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum,  Monday, named the Founder and Chairman of Oriental Energy Resources, Dr. Mohammed Indimi, and Prof. Abubakar Mustapha as chairman and Pro-chancellor respectively.

 Other members included, Prof. Bankole Ogumbameru, University Senate, Prof. Shettima Umara Bulakarima, University Congregation, Alhaji Lawan Buba, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Registrar of the  University as Secretary of  Council.


The governor charged them to formulate policies  that will ensure efficiency and prudent management of scarce resources and promote synergy with other Universities to enhance co-operation and collaboration in teaching and research necessary for the upliftment of the status of Borno State University.

And assured them of his unalloyed commitment to provide the necessary assistance and support required by the University from time to time.

He appealed to the management to promote discipline and transparency and to key into government transformation agenda in tandem with the 25 year-development framework as well as  the 10 year strategic transformation plan.

He appealed to  the University management to tap from Dr Indimi’s vast wealth of experience to develop the one year old institution as his  integrity and commitment have never been in doubt.

Highlights of the event was  a facility tour of the University’s  Senate Complex Building under  construction, the  Teaching Hospital as well as College of Medical and Health Sciences, worth over billions of naira.
