BREAKING: Bandits Kidnap Students from Kogi University

Bandits raided the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Okene, in Kogi State on Thursday night, abducting several students as they prepared for upcoming exams. The attack occurred around 9pm, with bandits entering three lecture halls and firing shots into the air to intimidate students. Although security personnel engaged the attackers, some students were still abducted. The incident has caused panic among students, with some hiding in the bush for over an hour before emerging cautiously. While the university’s Vice Chancellor confirmed the incident, details about the number of abducted students were not disclosed. Attempts to reach relevant authorities, including the Commissioner of Police and the State Security Adviser, were unsuccessful. Abduction for ransom has become increasingly common in various parts of the country, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures.
