BREAKING: Gunmen shoot soldier dead, cart away rifle in Delta

There is palpable tension in Oto community in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State as gunmen shot a soldier dead and carted away their rifles.

It was learnt that the gunmen stormed the area in a speed boat through the Oton river and opened fire on the soldiers at their checkpoint near the river.

Our correspondent who monitored the incident reports that some indigenes and residents are already fleeing their homes for fear that the military might deploy soldiers to the community for a reprisal attack.
