A Kogi State High Court in Lokoja has removed Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje from his position as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. Anaje, who was installed by former Governor Yahaya Bello in January 2024, is no longer recognized as the paramount traditional ruler of the region.
In a ruling delivered on Monday by Hon. Justice Salisu Umar of High Court 6, Anaje was ordered to cease representing himself as the traditional leader of Ebiraland. The judgment, associated with Suit Number HCO/05C/2024, was initiated by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Governor of Kogi State.
Efforts to reach Anaje for comment were unsuccessful, as his cell phones were switched off.
