The official announcement came through a police wireless message marked TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/T.5/103, dated December 11, 2023, and signed by the Nigeria Police Force Secretary on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The wireless message emphasized the immediate effect of Fayoade’s posting. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police, confirmed Fayoade’s deployment, noting that he is expected to assume duty from Wednesday onward.
