Breaking: Rivers State Governor Signs N800bn 2024 Appropriation Bill into Law

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill into law, totaling N800 billion. The signing took place in the conference room of the Governor’s Office at the Government House, a day after the budget estimates were presented to the State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Edison Ehie.

Governor Fubara, during his presentation to the assembly, highlighted the budget’s focus on promoting economic development through inclusive growth and addressing socio-economic inequality within the state. The approved budget comprises a Recurrent Expenditure of N361,598,242,570.85 and a Capital Expenditure of N410,266,485,090.64.

Further details on the specific allocations and projects covered by the budget are expected to be released in subsequent reports.
