In a recent development, the Supreme Court has deferred judgment in the appeals filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the election of Alex Otti. The five-member panel, led by John Okoro, adjourned the proceedings for judgments after hearing arguments from the involved parties. Earlier, the Court of Appeal in Lagos had dismissed petitions from the PDP and its candidate, Okey Ahiwe, as well as Ikechi Emenike of the APC. Both the APC and PDP seek the nullification of Alex Otti’s election as Abia State Governor under the Labour Party. Further details will follow.
