Breaking: Two Siblings Die in Niger State Mining Site Accident

Tragedy struck in Kakaki village, Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State, where two siblings lost their lives after a mass of overburden collapsed at an artisanal mining site.

The victims, identified as Zubairu Ibrahim, 25, and Sadiq Ibrahim, 20, had been working at the gold-rich site for some time. They reportedly went to the site with the hope of earning enough to settle a debt when the fatal incident occurred.

Both brothers had been engaged in artisanal gold mining at the bank of a tributary in the village, but their efforts ended in tragedy when the site gave way, burying them under the debris.
