Browny Igboegwu Criticizes Hypocrisy Among Nollywood Colleagues

By Abigail Philip David

Veteran Nollywood actor Browny Igboegwu recently took to social media to voice his disappointment over what he described as widespread hypocrisy within the Nigerian film industry.

In a candid post, Igboegwu criticized his colleagues for often speaking negatively about others, only to suddenly celebrate them publicly. He called for more authenticity and genuine relationships, urging his peers to either speak positively about others or refrain from speaking at all.

He also lamented the prevalence of superficial interactions and insincerity within the industry, highlighting a culture of “fake love” and “eye service.” Igboegwu further warned that he would distance himself from any colleagues he finds to be backstabbers.
