…trained 50 females on skill acquisition
As part of their annual corporate responsibilities, the BUA Cement of Sokoto has sponsored 50 students to Tertiary institutions, trained 50 females on make-ups and provide educational materials to many schools in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.
Declaring the ceremony opened, the Managing Director of BUA Cement, Engnr. Yusuf Binji represented by Aminu Bashar, said it was part of their corporate responsibilities to assist communities surrounding the company adding that 50% of the facilities were benefitted by Wamakko local government which is the host community while 30% went to Sokoto metropolis and 20% to Kebbi and Zamfara States.
Also speaking, the Corporate Affairs Manager, Alhaji Sada Sulaiman urged the beneficiaries of both scholarship award, skill acquisition and those of educational material to complement the gesture by making use of what they had benefitted with.
In their vote of thanks,the Wamakko Council Chairman Alhaji Bello Haliru Gwiwa and the Proprietor Miedie Saloon &Make-up Studio, Barrister Jamila Umar Anka commended the efforts of the company and promised to deliver what was expected of them.
Gwiwa added that the Bua cement has constructed Mosques, provide fields to serve as burial ground and many other social provisions important for rural dwellers.
