The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, July 9, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly name a cabinet to serve with him for the next four years.
The choice by the House was the aftereffect of a movement raised by a member, Hon Toby Okechukwu, during plenary.
Prior to the resolution of the House, another lawmaker, Hon Mohammed Monguno, had restricted the movement through a point of order.
Monguno contended that the constitution does not give a time span to the appointment of ministers by the president.
Okechukwu, nonetheless, contended that his movement did not recommend that there is a time span for the appointment of ministers by the president.
He said he was just requesting that the House approach the president to name the cabinet members quickly.
Daybreak.ng earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the re-appointment of his personal physician, Suhayb Rafindadi and 10 other personal staff.
The president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed this development in a tweet on his official twitter page.
