Former President Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed his sorrow in the wake of the ambush that resulted in the deaths of soldiers and a subsequent helicopter crash in Niger State.

Earlier this week, a group of bandits ambushed and killed Nigerian Army personnel, followed by a helicopter crash in Chukuba Village near Shiroro in the state.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, the former president extended his sympathy to the injured individuals and offered his prayers for their swift recovery.

Buhari also extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces of the Federation, and the families of the deceased.

He stated, “The helicopter accident that occurred in the aftermath of the tragic ambush, leading to the loss of our courageous army personnel, deeply saddens me. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. I hope for a speedy recovery of those who were injured.”

He further conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to President @officialABAT, the Armed Forces of the Federation, and the bereaved families.

“Given the unwavering discipline of our soldiers, it’s only a matter of time until they emerge victorious,” Buhari remarked.
