Burna Boy Discusses “City Boys” and Gender Perceptions

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, recently shared insights into the inspiration behind his hit song ‘City Boys’ during an interview with Kiss FM London, United Kingdom. Burna Boy explained that being a “City Boy” means prioritizing oneself in relationships with women, clarifying that it pertains to relationships and not a broader context. He emphasized that his actions as a “City Boy” are driven by the desire to do “fly sht” and not necessarily about others. Burna Boy also suggested that women often perceive things differently, and their perspective may contrast with the intentions of a “City Boy.”
