Bwala Responds to El-Rufai’s APC Criticism, Questions Loyalty

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Daniel Bwala, a presidential media aide, has responded to Nasir El-Rufai’s criticism of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He questioned whether El-Rufai would have made such remarks if he were in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

El-Rufai, speaking at a national conference in Abuja, accused APC of lacking internal democracy. He claimed the party was controlled by a few individuals and blamed poor leadership for its decline.

Bwala replied in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He pointed out that El-Rufai had helped form the government he now criticizes. According to him, such comments contradict El-Rufai’s previous involvement.

El-Rufai was once a strong ally of Tinubu. However, his relationship with APC leadership soured after the Senate rejected his ministerial nomination in August 2023. Since then, he has distanced himself from the party. Rumors suggest he may align with the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
