CACOL Promoting Accountability For Good Governance-Report.

By Jabiru Hassan.

Centre For Anti-corruption  And Open Leadership popularly known as “CACOL” remained the best Non-Governmental  organisation that worked selflessly towards the progress of this great country despite some challenges.

Our correspondent who look into some activities  rendered by the centre gathered that CACOL is making excellent advancement toward better Nigeria especially at present when the world is changing in leadership style and war against corruption.

The centre which achieved a lot in 2024 which we are now bidding farewell  with, was very successful in organising so many programmes and events that are now becoming a channel to Nigeria’s development  with optimum results.

It is gratifying  to put it in record that CACOL has done a commendable job by making best use of it’s  talented members  to educate and enlighten the general public about leadership and effects of corruption in Nigeria.

For a flashback, on october 10, 2024, CARCOL issued a press statement cautioning the Judiciary about the court orders hindering the fight on corruption and brought out the bitter side of backing offenders from the courts which was a great obstacles to punishing  offenders.

In another development, CACOL  in collaboration with the committee for the difference of Human rights (CDHR)  similarly organised a stakeholders interactive roundtable on  public policy making tagged ” Citizens accountab6 and rights forum(CARF) that discussed issues related to local councils autonomy which was very much welcomed by the Nigeria6 citizens respectively.

Furthermore,  the centre was able to make a call to the warring sides of Rivers state to embrace peace and loving one another as one family which has opened another door of peaceful coexistence  between the opposition  and those in power that brought real peace and progress in the state’s  political practices.

In another successful memo from CACOL, the organisation issued another advice to the federal government  about the need to release the kano minors arrested during the #endbadgovernance protests which served as another success story of  the centre.

Although there is no time to bring every activity organised by CACOL for national progress, but the centre  made another commendation to the Nigerian Senate for the  passage of RMAFC bill and called on the president to assent the bill.

Other success stories from CACOL include the EFCC’s asset forfeiture success and how the centre advised RMAFC to address derivation issues for our teaming youths to becoming anti-corruption agents, that will help  to make Nigeria greater.

In this regard, the CACOL leadership as well as its  members would continue  to be remembered for their sacrifice, patriotism and dedication towards the development  of our fatherland.
