The primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State held peacefully throughout the State last Sunday in spite of reports of late arrival of personnel and materials in a few places.

Delegates and officials defied the heavy rains and cold weather to ensure that the primaries were conducted and results turned in so that the Party can continue with the conduct of the Senatorial primaries as scheduled by today.

Records at the State secretariat of the Party at press time indicated that out of 24 state constituencies, results of ten constituencies had been received, and only one of the seven federal constituencies had been received and confirmed.

According to records, Mathew Akawu won in Pengana State constituency of Bassa local government area while Ibrahim Agbalak won the Rukuba/Irigwe State3 constituency of the same local government area.

Similarly the member representing Ryom state constituency in the House presently, Timothy Dantong won the primary to be re-elected as Member, just as his colleague in Jos North West lost the primary to Azi Danjuma.

Others who won include Philip Jwey for Barkin Ladi State constituency, Ishaku Maren for Bokkos, Nannim Joseph for Langtang North North, Yusuf Atsen for Jos East, the current member representing Jos South, Fom Gwottson.

The result for Barkin Ladi/Ryom federal constituency shows that the present House of Assembly member representing Barkin Ladi State constituency, Peter Gyenden, has won the primary to be elected to the House of Reps.
