By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

Residents across Kano state has commenced Thursday after the sighting  the holy  Month of Ramadan and announced by the  Sultanate and other traditional rulers as usual.

Our correspondent who was at the city of Kano and some environs reported that Muslims across the 44 local governments in the state commence fasting while local eateries and other commercial food vendors in various spots closed shops till after the month of Ramadan.

Similarly, people were seen at the banks trying to get money for family expenses despite the cash shortage at the bank which is one of the great set back that may seriously affects this year’s Ramadan feedings.

At Sabon Gari, Badawa, some parts of Na’ibawa and Brigade where non Muslims dominated, Daybreak observed that there are the presence of good vendors and other eatables which is habitual every year while the Kano state Islamic police known as Hisbah monitored the commencement of the fasting across the city of Kano as well as rural communities.

Speaking to our correspondent at GTBank France Road main Branch, people called on the CBN to makes the cash available at ATM’s and over the counter in order to reduce the hardships suffered by the customers to cater for their families.
