It aims to push forward research and innovation on AI healthcare technologies and international research cooperation.

Liu Duo, president of CAICT, said that MedNet focus on research on AI technologies’ application in both clinical medicine and public health based on big data.

The platform would undertake standards setting, the development of benchmark dataset, methodologies and experience sharing, the design and deployment of a public service platform that is useful to researchers and the industry.

Mao Junfa, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, also made remarks at the conference to support the work of the clinical medicine sector in the MedNet, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Adding to the AI applications, the MedNet would seek guidance and collaboration with international organisations with mandates in information standards and public health, such as ITU, WHO, among others.

It was noted that CAICT and Tsinghua University also initiated a league which consists of over 20 China’s top hospitals for further cooperation on AI healthcare technologies and application at the conference. (Xinhua/NAN)
