Christian Youths Demand Urgent Action to End Killings Across Nigeria

A coalition under the banner of the Concerned Christian Youth Forum has urged the Federal Government to take immediate and decisive action to end the escalating violence and killings plaguing the country, especially in Northern Nigeria.

The group made the call during a peaceful protest in Abuja on Wednesday, where members carried placards bearing messages like “Stop the Killings Now!” and “Justice for the Victims.”

Addressing protesters, the group’s leader, James Adama, decried the widespread insecurity and constant loss of lives, particularly in communities with large Christian populations. He said the rising tide of violence had left many communities in fear and despair.

“We are here to raise our voices against the persistent bloodshed in Nigeria. This isn’t just about Christians—it’s about humanity,” Adama said. “The level of insecurity in several parts of the country is deeply troubling, and we demand that the government take firm action to stop it.”

He criticised the failure of authorities to bring perpetrators to justice, warning that the lack of accountability is encouraging further violence.

“This protest is also to draw the government’s attention to its duty to protect lives. The unchecked killings must stop, and those responsible must be prosecuted,” Adama added.

The group urged the government to prioritise the security of all Nigerians, regardless of religion or region, and ensure justice for victims of attacks.
