Clergy Tasks Govt. To Re-energize Its Security Architectures Towards Curbing Criminality

The Deputy Chaplain, Kogi State government House Chapel, Rev.(Dr.) Philip Alhassan on Sunday in Lokoja charged Governments at all levels to checkmate and upgrade its security architecture to curb the menace of criminality in the society.

Rev. Alhassan who was the guest speaker at the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN) zonal Headquarter Church Lokoja, gave the charge during their 2021 Father’s day celebration over the weekend.

He noted that the rate of criminal interference in the society and incessant attack on religion institutions is on the alarming rate stressing that government must not rest on its oars until safety of lives and property is assured.

The Deputy Chaplain, however, charged religion institutions and individual homes to be security conscious so as to work in collaboration with government towards exposing criminal elements in the society.

According to him, “the world we live now is more dangerous than in the past, the church over the years can’t be compared with the 21st century time, in those days, Christian Faithfuls were more dedicated and committed than today.”

He said societal change has affected the gravity of many Christian’s commitment in the house of God, adding that spiritual boldness is no more stronger because of the societal change that Christian Faithfuls find themselves.

Reverend Alhassan noted that fathers need more commitment to God’s activities were ever they find themselves so as to be a good ambassadors of Christ in their homes and society saying, “Fathers’ faithfulness would enhance their progress in the changing society”.

He pointed out that the spiritual growth of every family depends on the uprightness and commitment of the heads of the family (Fathers) who have more job in drawing their families to do the right paths and doers of God’s words.
In his remarks the zonal Pastor in-charge of Lokoja, Rev. (Dr.) Malachi Ogakwu appreciated the church for their contributions towards the growth of the church and perseverance to the successful 2021 Father’s Day celebration.  

Rev. Ogakwu was optimistic that if Fathers in the house hearken to God’s words faithfully and ensure undiluted commitment, progress in the changing society would surely be guaranteed by God in the midst of insecurity society.

Earlier the chairman of the men fellowship, Mr Noah Ocheni (JP) expressed gratitude to members and the planning committee for their efforts in making the program a Success and charged them to put more trust and dedication unto God to enhance their progress in life.

He pointed out that contributions towards building the house of God is a collective efforts but the rewards comes from above, urging them not to look back at the their previous situation and challenges but focus on Him, the creator.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the planning committee, Bar( Dr) E.S Onu appreciated members of the fellowship, especially the Exco for the opportunity to serve and prayed for healthy family members and long life for future celebrations.

Highlights of the events were the special ministration, thanksgiving, and prophetic Deceleration.
