The convicts were ordered to sweep part of the Jimeta modern market in Yola.

Magistrate Daniel John, who handed down the judgment had acquitted 29 accused arraigned by the police.

Speaking earlier, spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said security forces were working in synergy, to enforce the lockdown order.

He said, “we have arrested a number of motorists and they will appear before a mobile court”.
