Covid-19: Benue Govt to Prevent Spread of Delta Variant Virus Among Citizens

Benue State Government says it has stepped up efforts towards preventing the spread of Delta Variant in the state, Commissioner of Health and Human services, Dr Joseseph Ngbea has disclosed.

Towards this ends, the Commissioner enjoined the people of the state to observe Covid-19 precautionary measures of washing hands regularly, wearing of face mask, using hand sanitizers as well as maintaining social distancing to contain the spread of the virus.

Some of the strategies according to the Commissioner include, creation of awareness campaign, resumption of regular testing by both the testing centers and enforcement of adherence to the preventive protocols as well as supply of materials to the people.

The Commissioner maintained that government has approved the purchase of more hand sanitizers, face mask and thermometers which would soon be made available to Benue citizens.

He added that Government has donated operational vehicles to Benue State Health Insurance Scheme and a vehicle to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi.

Ngbea who implored people of Benue State to observe personal hygiene against the deadly virus, stressed that three persons from Benue State have been delegated to attend Covid-19 general meeting in Abuja, assuring that after their return the ministry would swing into action.

He lauded some of the schools that are prevailing on their staff and students to observe the Corona virus safety measures, urging them to maintain the tempo.
