CSOs laud Akume’s revolutionary leadership traits at 71

Leaders of prominent Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across the country have described the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Dr. George Akume as a revolutionary leader and a beacon of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The CSOs stated this as part of resolutions at a CSO roundtable discussion in Abuja on Friday, the 27th of December 2024, as part of activities to mark the 71st birthday of the elder statesman and politician.

The round table also analysed the leadership style and trajectory of the SGF, describing it as impactful and a beacon of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“Looking at the year in perspective, we are astonished at the quality and quantity of work the SGF has done in facilitating the smooth conduct of government affairs. It simply goes to show that he is a true patriot who has prioritized the nation over anything else.

“Considering these giant strides and selflessness, we are moved to align ourselves solidly with the current administration. We are open to collaborations with the SGF and indeed the federal government in advancing the frontiers of development in all areas.

“The government cannot work in isolation and since the current administration is willing to carry everyone along in their policies and programmes, it will simply be unpatriotic for us not to mobilize and support the efforts of the government”, Amb. (Dr.) Solomon Adodo, Convener of the CSOs Round table and other different speakers intoned.

The CSOs similarly passed a vote of confidence on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, maintaining that “despite the present setbacks, they are confident that with a credible team comprising of the SGF and members of the Federal Executive Council, Nigerians will soon breathe a sigh of relief and be grateful to Mr. President for his transformative policies”.

Different speakers at the round table discussion including youth and other stakeholders were unanimous in commending the SGF for his untiring efforts towards the fulfilment of the renewed hope agenda and pledged their unalloyed support to the current administration. Prominent Speakers at the event included; Amb. (Dr.) Solomon Adodo, Convener – Rising-up for a United Nigeria; Chief Dominic Ogakwu, President – Civil Society Groups for Good Governance; Amb. Splendour Agbonkpolor, Executive Director – Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria and Mallam Suleiman Musa of the Nigerian Middle-aged Citizens Council.
