Subsidizing fertilizer by governor Umar Namadi remained a clear indication that facilitates agricultural transformation for food production agenda.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the All farmers association of Nigeria (AFAN) Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga shortly after inauguration a committee on the sales of fertilizer by governor Umar Namadi Friday.
He lamented that provision of adequate fertilizer and other inputs at a subsidized rate would enable the farmers to multiply their production at both dry and rainy season with profit orientation with minimal loss, adding that governor Umar Namadi has done a commendable job by slashing the cost of fertilizers from 25,000 Naira to 16,000 only.
” We are certain that Jigawa farmers would benefit from the subsidy and I am sure that all those who were inaugurated to oversee the fertilizer sales would work selflessly to ensure that all categories of the farmers benefited from the gesture without bias”. He stressed.
Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga reiterated his association’s determination and zeal to promote agriculture in order to actualize good production and economic progress in Jigawa state at both dry and wet seasons, where he thanked governor Umar Namadi for putting agriculture in a front row of his 12 points agendas.
