Dantata Called For Local Councils Autonomy

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

A renown Kano Businessman, and elder statesman Alhaji Aminu Dantata has called for the full and immediate implementation of the local government councils autonomy which has been recognised as the only channel towards economic, social and peaceful co-existence in Nigeria.

He disclosed this in his remark at the recent coronation and presentation of staff of office to the emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero held at Sani Abacha stadium Saturday,3/7/2021,adding that giving full autonomy to local councils is the best way to ensure progress because local administration remained a government that is close to the people.

In another development, the business mogul canvasses his support to the parliamentary system of government in Nigeria like what is being practiced in the olden days, where he described the present system of governance as non progression especially when the democracy we are now practicing is not how democracy should be.

Alhaji Dantata therefore commended governor Ganduje for respecting traditional institutions adding that ” You have shown that your government respects traditional rulers who are always contributing to national development an every sector, and i congratulates the emir on his recent coronation”. He stated.
