DASH GETS FULL ACCREDITATION IN FAMILY MEDICINE, SET FOR MORE

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Dalhatu  Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) DR. Ikrama  Hassan has Said that DASH has been awarded full accreditation in family medicine and are also set for four (4) other departments.


He said this, on Tuesday, 14th January, 2020. When he received  a team  from the West African College of Physicians, Who came for accreditation visit for the the department of Internal Medicine, expressing his readiness to do his best to ensure all is put in place for the hospital to function maximally.


Dr. Ikrama who spoke to news men during the event, further emphasised his commitment to transforming DASH, stressing that this accreditation visit is for the 5th department in DASH, with Family Medicine having full accreditation, with Obstetrics /Gynaecology and surgery having partial and awaiting full accreditation, Paediatrics Department  and now the Internal Medicine department awaiting accreditation from the various Colleges; Ophthalmology Radiology and Community Medicine departments are to follow after

Prof. Isaac  Kofi, the head of the team and his colleagues  were taking round the facilities for inspection after which he said, “first of all, I would like to commend the CMD for the great work he is doing here. for  him to be able to expand the hospital bed capacity from two hundred to four hundred within two years is a great achievement.”The  CMD further appreciated the accreditation team for their observations and suggestions and obliged to immediately consider all the recommendations so as to make the department better positioned to serve the people of the  State.
