International superstar Davido took a poignant moment during his performance to extend his condolences to the family of the late singer Mohbad. Addressing his concertgoers, he reminded them that celebrities and artists are also human beings who face their own challenges.
Davido expressed, “I just want to send my condolences to the family of my little brother Mohbad who passed away yesterday. You know, as we come on stage and perform for you guys every night, you guys might not know what we artists be going through. We’re human beings too, and it takes a lot for us to come out, perform, and deliver every night, and we do that because we love you. You feel me. Special shoutout to my brother; we know you’re in heaven watching us. Tonight, we turn up for you.”
This heartfelt tribute occurred during the Manchester leg of his ongoing Timeless tour and showcased Davido’s emotional response to Mohbad’s sudden passing. The artist also expressed his condolences on Twitter by posting a candle emoji in honor of the late singer.
Additionally, it was reported that Davido generously gifted Mohbad’s family ₦2 million for support. In a video recorded after Mohbad’s funeral, the family confirmed that the donation and condolences came through a representative, expressing their gratitude to Davido for his kindness and support during their difficult time.
