Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) Youth wing, has decried renewed terrorists attacked and killings across Southern Kaduna areas of kaduna state in the last few weeks, calling on the indigenes to defends themselves against the attackers who have made vows to diedkilling their kinsmen.

The Union which made the call in a statement issued on Monday morning and signed by it National youth leader Comrade John Isaac, lamented that scores were killed while properties including houses were burnt down by the
same terrorists just last night at Maraban Agban Kagoro in Southern Kaduna.

The statement titled: “Renewed Attacks and Killings Across Southern Kaduna: A Call for Self-Defense”, the Union leader expressed dismay that the criminals continued to operate without deliberate attempt by security bodies to intervene and stopped them.

He stated “Brethren, we must have observed the reoccurring Spade of attacks and killings taking place across our communities in the last few weeks.
“Last night, Maraban Agban Kagoro came under attack with scores killed, properties and houses burnt by the same terrorists Fulani herders who have vowed to die attacking our kinsmen, one thing we are sure of is the unarguable fact that they shall continue to labour in vain.

“lt is however worrisome the manner with which this criminals continued to operate with no deliberate attempt by security bodies to intervene or stops these criminal Fulani terrorists from attacking our communities.

“The Youth Wing of Southern kaduna People’s Union is again at this time compelled to say Government, both at the State and Federal levels have failed to put an end to this mindless attacks on our people and arrest perpetrators.

“We are calling on all Sons and Daughters across Southern Kaduna in the face of these cruel killings to defend yourselves in the proportionate ways and manners your lives seems threaten.

“We urge us all not to sit and watch while our kinsmen are led to slaughter like lambs, our lands taken, our children butchered and our sisters and daughters raped to death.
“Let us be reminded that every inch of Land in Southern Kaduna is an inheritance from our forefathers and remains the exclusive entitlement of our offsprings.

“We cannot abandoned or cedes an inch of Southern Kaduna to any coward at this time, not when our forefathers and fathers died protecting it.

“It is a noble duty we hand over same which was handed to us to our offsprings. Brethren fear not the sounds and echoes of death.
For if God is with us, who can stand against us.

“For the LORD our God is he that goeth with us, to fight for us against our enemies, to save us.” Deuteronomy 20:4

“Above all brethren lets continue to look up to the heavens from where cometh our help”, it stated.

CAN REACTS

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna State Chapter has also join others and expressed sadness and grieving following what it decried as the continued killings, kidnappings, banditry, and the “unimaginable evil going on in our state, unabated without any substantial action by the Government and security forces.

In a statement on Monday by the state CAN Chairman Rev. Joseph John Hayab, stated that “One only needs to see how human beings are killed and roasted by bandits who attacked Kagoro to conclude that this is one loss too many.

“How long will this evil continue and when will our leaders act dutifully? Kaduna State citizens are tired of Government’s rhetorical responses without concrete action taken to protect lives and property”, he stated.

“Accordingly, we want to hear and
see the killers and kidnappers arrested as the government’s usual media condemnation whenever there is havoc is not good enough.

“Meanwhile, we appeal to citizens to also wake up and do the needful, protecting their lives and
community. When a government fails to protect you, you ought to find a means of defending
yourself.
“For the records, Kaduna state has lost several lives in the past four years while the leaders scarcely show empathy or concern for the victims seeing that the government’s response is usually in the media.
“Sadly, the dead cannot read nor listen to the news. Then of
what use is media condemnation”, he stated.

CAN, therefore called on the Kaduna State Government to swallow her pride and accept that she has failed the people, genuinely seeking help to immediately halt the wanton killings, kidnappings, and terrorist activities going on in the state.

“Governor El-rufai and his team should focus on the fight to salvage the state so that he will be
remembered for good when he leaves office’, he added.
