Defraud job seekers, face dismissal – Comptroller immigration tells officers, staffs

BY Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The Comptroller of immigration, Kaduna state command, Alh. Bashir M. Lawal, has warned that any officers and staff involved in collecting money from applicants seeking for immigration job will face dismissal.

Comptroller Lawal who made the assertion in an interview with journalists on the heels of the widespread speculation of immigration jobs scam, restated that recruitment into service is free.

“Immigration recruitment is free, no kobo is charged by anybody, and the forms are online for free. Anyone who demand any kobo from you for the job is fraud.

“We’ve just done our examination with the shortlisted candidates last Thursday, and It was free. This is therefore to inform the general public that anybody who demand money from them is fraud.

“Nobody was asked to pay a single kobo for the recruitment, not even for photocopy. Report any staff/or officer who ask you of money for employment to any of the nearest immigration office in the 36 states of federation and LGAs”, he said.

He also Called on journalists to assist the immigration service by reporting anybody, staff and officers, demanding for money for recruitment.

My lines are open. Report, and we’ll take immediate action. The Comptroller General is not sleeping on the fraud. He promised a dismissal for officer found involved in such habit.

“We love the immigration and want to project the good image of the service. So any staff who go all out of tracks, demanding for money for recruitment into the service is not good to be with us. We’ll show him the way out”,, he restated.
