Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Tuesday urged NYSC Corps members deployed to the State to be vanguards of rural development, to brace up to the

“As leaders of both today and tomorrow, you are expected to be discreet and objective in your analysis of national events to enable you play the stabilizing roles of bringing about peace, understanding and development in the country.

“You are leaders of today, because the block you mould today will form the foundation of that tomorrow you are looking forward to.

Oborevwori however, appealed to Corps members to be cautious in all their activities, saying “this is a tempting period for most of you as the
urge to embark on adventures, most of which could be either detrimental to your future or pose serious dangers to your lives, is ever present”.

The governor urged them to moderate the ecstasy of youthful exuberance in all their undertakings during the year.

He tasked them to accept the call to national service with a good sense of purpose and transparent patriotism.

“This approach will ensure that you benefit immensely from the programme while the nation in turn, will derive maximum dividends from the services you render during the service year”, Oborevwori stressed.
