Delta govt. Committed in developing students in technical manpower

Delta State Government has expressed its commitment at developing students to think critically, and able to solve challenging problems as it affect the society.

The State Commissioner for Technical Education, Princess Shola Ogbemi Daibo stated this during the 2nd edition of Technical College Fair and Project Exhibition held in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

The theme of the fair entitled: “Creativity and Innovation Among the Youths through Technical Education: Fabrication of Portable Oil Palm Milling Machine”.

The Commissioner represented at the Fair by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Bragiwa Moses said that the objective of the programme is to create a platform for assessing and selecting projects from the state owned technical colleges that are mostly indigenously innovative.

She maintained that the state government aimed at developing and solving challenging problems as it affect the society and also exposing their skills and knowledge acquired from the technical colleges to the larger society by promoting the production of middle-class technical manpower for self actualization.

She noted that Okowa led administration has shown to the world its desire to increase access to technical education in the state for the teeming youth for them to be technically incline and be self-employed.

Mrs. Daibo noted that much progress has been achieved in the last few months as regards the technical colleges in the state.

She stressed that the ministry is desirous to collaborate with the state ministry of science and technology in training students in renewal energy and information and communication technology.
