Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu has come to the defense of President Bola Tinubu, asserting that Tinubu should not be held responsible for Nigeria’s current economic crisis. Speaking on the occasion of his 53rd birthday celebration where he hosted orphans, widows, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the elderly in Abia State, Kalu emphasized the need to acknowledge the efforts of Tinubu in addressing the nation’s economic challenges.
Kalu, responding to questions from reporters, highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to rectifying the mistakes of previous administrations that contributed to the current economic situation. He urged Nigerians to refrain from placing blame solely on Tinubu, emphasizing that the economic hardships have accumulated over time due to mismanagement by past administrations.
Asserting Tinubu’s intentions to pave the way for sustainable livelihoods, Kalu called for continued support and encouragement for the current leadership’s efforts to address the nation’s economic woes.
Looking ahead, Kalu expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future despite present unrest, urging citizens to maintain faith in the current leadership rather than succumbing to despair.
Kalu also underscored the importance of compassion and solidarity, criticizing the hoarding of wealth amidst widespread poverty. He emphasized the need for individuals to extend support to those in need, irrespective of political affiliations or backgrounds.
In conclusion, Kalu advocated for love, peace, and unity, calling on Nigerians to prioritize humanitarian values and work together towards a brighter future for all.
