Doctor drags Senator La’ah to Court in Kaduna, claims N1. 8m

Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senatot Danjuma Tela La’ah, has been dragged to Daura Magistrate court in Kaduna over alleged N1.8 million debt.

The Chief Executive Officer Ataga Scan and Diagnostic Services, Doctor Philip Ataga, who dragged the Senator to court Tuesday, claiming N1 million been outstanding balance of part of Medical Outreach allegedly conducted on behalf of Senator La’ah in three local Government Areas of Kaduna State in 2018.

In a Suit No: KDC/278CV/2021, before the Chief Magistrate court Daura, Counsel to the plaintiff, Frank Akhareghemen also prayed the court to order the defendant to pay his client the sum of N3000, 000 been the incidental expenses and/or legal charges which the
Plaintiff incurred in respect of this matter.


He is also asking for the sum of N500,000 as damages for loss of use and economic inconvenience and losses caused Dr Ataga by Senator Danjuma La’ah.

Doctor Ataga, had earlier in a letter, demanded for the payment of the N1 million, saying that the medical outreach carried out in Senator La’ah’s constituency in 2018 boosted his chanced of winning the ticket of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) which made his return to the Senate possible.

When the case came up Tuesday for mentioning, the Magistrate court told the defendant Counsel to take a date of hearing, adding that denial or responding on the viability of the case was not the issues at that moment.

The court therefore adjourned the matter for 9th September 2021, for hearing.
