Double Honors for Davido in Atlanta and Georgia on His 31st Birthday

As Davido celebrates his 31st birthday this week, the music superstar receives a double dose of blessings with special honors from Atlanta and Georgia. In a heartwarming gesture, both locations have designated a ‘Day’ to celebrate and appreciate the Afrobeat sensation.

His lawyer, Prince Ajudua, shared the exciting news by posting screenshots of the official certificates of declaration. Atlanta officially proclaims November 18th, 2023, as Davido’s Day, while Fluton County, Georgia, designates November 21st, 2023, as Davido Appreciation Day.

Fans flooded the comment section with expressions of joy and admiration for their beloved artist. The certificates add to Davido’s list of accolades, including a day dedicated to him in Houston, Texas, after a sold-out concert in July. The Mayor of Houston declared every July 7 ‘Davido’s Day,’ recognizing his significant contributions to the music industry.

In another remarkable achievement, the Federal Government honored Davido with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award. Expressing gratitude on Instagram, Davido emphasized his mission to use his platform to showcase his country.

Adding to this year’s blessings, Davido has secured Grammy nominations for his latest album, “Timeless.” The nominations include Best Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Global Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Reflecting on his nomination, Davido affirmed the adage that delay isn’t denial, particularly considering the previous recognition of his contemporaries, Burna Boy and Wizkid, by the prestigious academy.
