Edo Deputy Governor Shaibu Denied Access to Government House Office

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has reported that he was denied access to his former office at the Dennis Osadebey seat of power in GRA, Benin City.

Shaibu attempted to enter the Government House on Monday morning but found the gate leading to his previous office locked.

Shaibu had initiated the relocation of his office within the Government House to No. 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue.

The new office is situated at the Public Procurement Office of the Edo State Government and is in close proximity to the Dennis Osadebey seat of power in GRA, Benin City.

Sources confirmed the move and noted that the new office was not completely renovated.

Last week, a letter purportedly from the office of the Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, instructed Shuaibu to relocate to a new office at No. 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, GRA, Benin City.

Speaking in Benin City on Monday, Shaibu revealed that he had not received formal communication from the Governor’s office regarding the relocation.

“As of now, I don’t have any official communication instructing me to relocate. The only individuals who have received official communication are my civil servants. The civil servants have been officially informed, but I haven’t. Currently, I am standing by the gate,” he stated.
