The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Ede Ayuba Ekpeji psc has assured the people of the state of the Command’s preparedness to provide adequate security during the Sallah festival.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Dsp William O. Aya, and made available to the press said the CP congratulated all Muslims on completion of Ramadan fast, while assuring Kogites on the adequate security measures put in place to ensure a hitch free celebrations.
The Commissioner reiterates the Commands’ level of preparedness in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate protection of lives and property during and after the celebrations.
He assured members of the public that the Command made adequate deployment of its personnel across the State to secure public places and guarantee a safe and secure environment for all.
He Noted that, the Area Commanders, Tactical and operational Commanders as well as the Divisional Police Officers were charged to ensure a hitch free celebrations in their Area of Responsibilities.
He urges the law abiding members of the public to go about their lawful activities and warned would be trouble makers to desist from any act capable of disrupting the existing peace the State is enjoying, saying that the Command will not hesitate to deal with any one caught committing any act of lawlessness in the State.
The Commissioner of Police called on the members of the public to sharpens their power of observation and report any suspicious objects, movements and activities around their neighborhood to the Police or any other security agencies in the State to enable prompt response to mitigate the act.
“Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police wishes to use this medium to thank the Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahay Bello, The Executive Governor of Kogi State for his continued support and encouragement to the Police in the fight against crime and criminality in the State,
He also thanked the traditional rulers as custodians of culture for their roles in implementing the Community Policing Project in their various Communities.
The CP equally praised the religious leaders for their prayers, the Press for being our partners and supporters in the fight against criminality in the State, the vigilante, the hunters as well as patriotic members of the public for their support with credible information which led to the arrest and prosecution of some criminal elements terrorizing the good people of the State.
“The CP commended the heads of Security agencies in the State on the effective synergy in the fight against criminality. Also to members of the Police Command’s management team for their continue support to make the Command achieved a relative peace we are enjoying.
“To this end, the Commissioner of Police assures that the command’s tempo in the fight against crime and criminality and to reclaim public spaces remain unequivocal and unwavering.
